Pili Pili 120mm Apsaroke Crow Woman W/children...

Hello all. I just finished up this marvelously sculpted mounted kit from Pili Pili as a Christmas gift to my wife. My wife actually bought this kit for me back at world expo 2005 (Boston) but quite honestly I did not have the balls to tackle it til now. She is painted in all freehand using Vallejo acrylics and believe me, this was quite a challenge with all these colors that are basically foreign to me. Thanks to Al Lafleche for help with ideas for the groundwork.

Ac Models 150mm Mg34 Gunner...

This is the MG34 gunner from AC models. Andy Cairns had approached me about painting this figure for boxart purposes after I had expressed some interest in tackling him when in prog pics of the sculpt were posted. He is sculpted in early Barbarossa summer garb (reed green fatigues) and Andy has lent an interesting take in the MG34 accessory box, the canteen and the rare bakelite MG butt with metal tips. The figure was finished as always in Vallejo acrylics w/citadel paints used for the metallics. The camo in the exterior bands on the helmet was a personal choice and after looking at some early war picture references, I decided to use excelsior moss and some Aber PE vines w/ leaves attached. I also used the excelsior moss to simulate the tall grass which looks good to scale, hence the matching camo on the helmet. Andy has done a fine job on this figure and is now one of my favorites in my current collection. Just can't stay away from these MG34/42 guys!!! Must be the look of the ammo belts that attracts me.

Maurice Corry's 1/10 Scale British Piat Gunner...

This is my latest work. It is Maurice Corry's 1/10 scale British Piat gunner bust. Excellent sculpt as I think we would all expect from Maurice so not much more to add to that. he is painted in Vallejo acrylics and Citadel metallics.

Another Pmc Kharkov Mg42 Gunner...

Hi all. Finished this one just before the MMSI show. This is a figure from PMC Miniatures and is a John Rosengrant sculpt so right off the bat you know it will be of HIGH quality. figure went together very well, very minimal clean up, not much more to be said really. As usual he is painted in Vallejo acrylics with Citadel paints for the metallics.

Jeff Shiu 200mm Mg34 Gunner...

Here is my latest work. It is the Jeff Shiu 200MM offering of the MG34 gunner. I'll probably nameplate this one as "Stalingrad MG34 Gunner" as he looks the part. Great sculpt in all areas I just did not like the method of assembling the right arm and the gun. Since the gun is cast in his right arm it has to be attached while your painting his uniform because of the way it attaches. It kinda attaches like it is a severed limb (those of you who have this figure know what I mean as I really can't explain it better than that) so you have to finish off the greatcoat with the MG attached which causes other problems and I just don't like painting like that. Other than that one dislike I really enjoyed him. A really nice figure to dirty up and make look really combat hardened. Groundwork was part of a resin wall I had left over from a previous kit and the bricks and other pieces or groundwork were carved from balsa foam. he is as always painted in Vallejo Acrylics, Citadel metallics and Windsor and Newton series 7 sable brushes.
