200MM 82nd Airborne from Maurice Corry...

Here is my latest commission piece just in time for the MMSI show in Schamburg Illinois. It is the 200MM sculpt by Maurice Corry. I had some mixed feelings about this figure in that it is a very fine sculpt actually almost too good in some respects that made it a very laborious piece to paint. The folds and the wrinkles in the jacket are amazing, hence the laborious painting time that it took to bring out these details but I'm not complaining. I do feel though that there is a lot of missing details and equipment here. The reason I say this is because he is supposed to be modeled after a paratrooper of the 82nd airborne during the Normandy drops yet there was no flag on his right arm, no entrenching tool, no musette bag or any other equipment of any kind, just a canteen. Also there is no camo netting on his helmet nor is there a first aid pouch. Like I said, great sculpt but to me he is missing some very basic equipment that I think should have been there so for the next one I do I'll see if I can get my hands on some 200MM US infantry equipment. As usual he is painted in Vallejo acrylics.

Latest diorama...SURROUNDED

Hello all. Here is my latest diorama entitled "SURROUNDED". It is in 1/16th scale and incorporates the 1/16th scale T-34/76 1943 model from Trumpeter along with Verlinden, Airborne Miniatures and some other heads and what not from I don't remember where. The Russian Isba is fashioned from balsa wood, bass wood, plastic card and balsa foam (completely scratched) It represents elements of a Waffen SS division (probably LAH) during the retreats after the stalemate at Kursk. The diorama is painted as always in Vallejo acrylics and extensively weathered with MIG pigments! Oh BTW I gotta remove that Panzerfaust as it does not fit the time frame of the dio.

U.S. Buffalo soldier circa 1800's...

Here is my latest completed work. It is a 1/9th scale resin bust of a U.S. Buffalo soldier which will be the box art for Minuteman Models new release. He is painted as usual in Vallejo acrylics and was very challenging to paint the African-American skin tones.
